Protective measures
When engaged in the production or use of acetic acid, protective clothing, gloves, and goggles should be worn. For areas at risk of exposure, eye wash stations and safety signal indicators should be available. Those in contact with liquids containing more than 50% acetic acid, or who repeatedly or for extended periods come into contact with liquids containing 10-49% acetic acid, should wear work clothes and protective eyewear to prevent eye and skin contact. If a worker’s skin becomes wet or contaminated, it should be immediately washed with soap and water, and if work clothes become wet or contaminated, they should be removed promptly. For all liquids containing more than 5% acetic acid, emergency eye wash solution should be available.
